Ways YOU can get INVOLVED
Our Greatest Assets Are Our Dedicated Volunteers
As a volunteer-powered non-profit organization, Valley Hills Animal Rescue would not exist without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. The number of dogs and cats we can save depends on the number of people we have helping us. We are always looking for new volunteers!
There are many ways you can volunteer with Valley Hills Animal Rescue. From walking dogs and playing with cats, to taking them to puppy training classes, to helping at adoption events, every step along on our animal’s journey relies on volunteers.
Dog Walking and Playing with Cats
Although we are a working rescue, your volunteer experience can be as laid-back or active as you like. Volunteer activities include tasks such as assisting with the cleaning of the animal areas, feeding, walking, spending quiet time socializing with our animals and grooming.
Fundraising
Help Valley Hills Animal Rescue with fundraising events, or general fundraising activities. Our dogs need hard bones (provides something for them to do while in their kennels), new collars and soft slip lead leashes, kong balls and toys, cats toys and beds, and clay litter (unscented, non-clumping).
Adoption Events
We hold adoption events one Saturday per month.
Volunteer to help to handle our dogs while they meet prospective adopters or help wash dogs to get them ready before the event.
Fostering
As we prepare for more dogs to arrive into our program, we are looking for more foster homes for dogs. By providing a foster home, you'll give a dog the love and safety she needs to find a forever home. Fostering is easy, too. We'll match you up with a foster dog who fits your schedule and lifestyle, and we'll make sure you have everything you need to care for your temporary houseguest.
Transporting Animals
Our dogs and cats need to be transported to and from vet appointments, to new adoptive homes, and to spay and neuter clinics. Sign up to help with local transports.
